ABOUT THE PRODUCT

What is a Cerustop wax guard/ filter stick?
A wax guard/ filter is attached/ mounted on one end of the stick: the white bit at the end of the black stick
At the other end is a hook/ extraction tool (the black end of the stick) for removing the used/ blocked wax guard from the end of your hearing aid receiver/ speaker
Wax build up in your hearing aids?
Ear wax is one of the main causes of malfunction
During daily use of your hearing aids, ear wax can work its way into the sound outlet of the receiver/ speaker of the hearing aid and partially or completely block the passage of sound resulting in an under-performing and/ or a ‘dead’ hearing aid
Use these Wax guards to repel/ trap ear wax and moisture in order to protect your hearing aid’s receiver (speaker) and maintain hearing aid performance over months of daily use (depending on the amount of wax that your ears produce – varies from person to person)
In the ear hearing aids are especially vulnerable to wax problems due to their placement in the ear canal
By using and changing the wax guard regularly, you can protect your In the Ear (ITE) hearing aids from being blocked with earwax, thereby minimising any earwax related problems
Why use Cerustop Wax Guards?
Ear wax can build-up and cause your hearing aid to under-perform. Wax can work its way into the tube of your hearing aid and either, fully or partially block sound output
In-The-Ear (ITE) and Receiver in the Canal (RIC) hearing aids are more susceptible to wax problems due to their placement deep within the ear canal
By using a Cerustop wax guard you can protect your ITE and RIC hearing aid from ear wax build-up, and maintain its performance
The use of Cerustop wax guard does not eliminate the need for daily cleaning procedures
Since the amount of earwax produced by each individual can vary dramatically, it is recommended that the wax guard is checked daily
How often should I change my wax guard?
Changing your Cerustop wax guard varies from person to person
If the sound is weak/ silent or if wax is visible in the wax guard, it’s time to change the wax guard
We recommend you change it if you can visibly see a build-up of wax, or you notice the under-performance of your hearing aid.
We suggest you check it on a regular/ daily basis, and you clean it daily with your little wax brush. If you do not have a wax brush, please check our shop and order yours
